Indian Ink Theatre Company has been creating “Serious Laughter” since 1997, bringing a unique blend of beauty, humour, poignancy, and truth to the stage. Based in Aotearoa New Zealand and known for touring globally, Indian Ink aims to transport audiences through powerful storytelling and memorable characters that linger long after the curtain falls. The name itself reflects the desire to leave an indelible mark on the hearts of its audiences.

Co-founded by Justin Lewis and Jacob Rajan (MNZM), Indian Ink has become one of New Zealand’s most celebrated theatre companies, amassing over 13 national and international awards, critical acclaim, and a history of sold-out seasons. Since its inception, more than 510,000 people have been touched by their original and transformative plays.
