coKo Lounge

Coko Lounge is a small, vibrant Lounge/Cafe space, located in the heart of Central Dunedin. Decorated eclectically, we have created an ambiance that encourages our guests to relax and lounge.

Coko lounge's name is inspired by KoKo Samoa (A traditional Samoan cacao beverage and cacao species). Koko Samoa is the most genetically diverse cacao species in the world. Our unique cacao experience aims to bridge the traditional Meso-American cacao with the one-of-a-kind koko Samoa to bring you Dunedin’s own specialty coKo Elxiers.

We provide a menu ranging from Ceremonial grade cacao drinks traditionally used in Meso-America and Samoa to artisan chocolates and everything in-between. Our unique recipes utilise raw unprocessed cacao to create divine, rich foods, chocolates and drinks with a unique Dunedin twist. Our tea menu, including over 30 different fine teas from around the world, is curated by our in-house tea master. We offer coffee crafted with a difference. Using a manual espresso press we pour smooth coffees of any type using our favourite single source, locally roasted Guatemalan bean. Our food menu provides a wealth of nutritious options such as salads, hemp slices, and gourmet sandwiches.
