Rewi Schaaf Legal & Consultancy is a Māori-owned legal practice based in Tāmaki Makaurau, founded by Vivian-Lee Schaaf. The practice was built with a vision of making legal support more accessible, relatable and culturally grounded, while still delivering high-quality legal advice and advocacy. We work across a range of areas including criminal law, family law, relationship property matters, wills and estates, surrogacy, Council issues and general legal support. We also provide consultancy services for organisations, community groups and Māori and Pasifika-led initiatives. At the heart of the business is people. We understand that engaging with lawyers can often feel overwhelming, intimidating or out of reach. Our aspiration is to create a space where clients feel supported, understood and empowered throughout the legal process. Our approach combines strong legal knowledge with practical, real-world guidance. We pride ourselves on being approachable, responsive and solutions-focused, while maintaining professionalism and integrity in everything we do. Rewi Schaaf Legal & Consultancy is also passionate about community impact and supporting equitable access to justice. Our Director provides free weekly walk-in clinics in Papatoetoe through Whare Whakaute Charitable Trust. This sits alongside our wider kaupapa of supporting whānau, businesses and communities to navigate systems with confidence and clarity. Whether assisting individuals through difficult personal situations, supporting businesses with legal matters, or working alongside community organisations, our goal is to provide legal services that are both effective and human.
