Shotover Canyon Swing is proudly the world’s original Canyon Swing, locally owned and operated since 2002.

Operating in the iconic Shotover Canyons, the platform is perched 109m above the Shotover River. After leaping or being released from the platform, you'll freefall 60 metres, rushing past the rocky cliff face so close you will think you could touch it! The freefall is intense, lasting just a bit longer than you think it should. Then, it's a super smooth transition into the 200m swing and it's smiles from ear to ear. Is it worth it? Hell yeah it is. So much so that you will want to do it all over again! Go solo or tandem, and pick from our 70+ different swing styles. There's genuinely something for everyone, from the mildly nervous to the wildly unhinged.

Shotover Canyon Swing is known for its small group experiences, our exceptional bunch of jump masters, and being the only swing in the world where you can choose to be released or jump from the same platform. It all began as a hobby of jumping off cliffs over 20 years ago. Today we still jump off cliffs, but now we share this with those willing and eager.

A 4WD vehicle will collect you from our booking office in Queenstown and take you for a 15 minute drive out to our Swing site, followed by a short walk to our purpose-built platform high above the iconic Shotover River. Allow 2.5 hours for the round trip.
