Taha Tika Taiao Limited

Taha Tika Taiao is a kaupapa-led environmental service working alongside hapū, iwi, rūnanga, whānau, communities, councils, and partners to design and deliver taiao initiatives that are culturally grounded, community-led, and built to endure. We recognise that meaningful environmental outcomes are not achieved through technical solutions alone. They must reflect the values, knowledge, and aspirations of the people connected to the whenua and wai. Our work brings mātauranga Māori and contemporary science together, ensuring restoration approaches are both culturally relevant and practically effective. Operating at the intersection of culture, strategy, and delivery, we support kaupapa from early engagement and planning through to implementation. We help shape clear direction, coordinate delivery across multiple partners, and ensure projects remain accountable to both people and place. A key focus of our work is strengthening mahinga kai systems and environmental health, supporting long-term ecological restoration alongside cultural and community wellbeing. We prioritise approaches that build local capability, enable Māori-led participation, and create pathways for ongoing involvement and leadership.
