National Transport & Toy Museum

Housing one of the largest private collections in the world, the National Transport & Toy Museum in Wanaka is a fascinating blend of classic cars, toys, and aviation history. With over 600 vehicles, 20 aircraft, 60,000 toys, and thousands of other items, this unique museum offers something for everyone.

The transport collection is a 20th-century treasure trove, featuring vintage and classic cars, fire engines, military vehicles, tractors, trucks, motorbikes, heavy construction equipment, and more.

For toy enthusiasts, the museum is a child’s dream, housing a vast array of diecast models, Meccano, dolls, teddy bears, tin, windup, and battery-powered toys. It is also home to New Zealand’s largest display of Barbie and Star Wars memorabilia.
